Fine treatment screens

High effectiveness of mechanical treatment is provided by 0,5-6 mm crevice fine treatment screens application.

Engineers of Ecopolymer Group applies three main types of fine treatment screens:
  • drum screens;
  • stepped screens;
  • rack screens.

Each of the screen types has its own specific features, which have to be considered within selection of screen type. Based on the fine treatment screens’ application experience the following features can be noted.

Drum screens are mostly applied at currently constructing plants as well as they require wider channels as compared with those being applied at existing plants.




Stepped screens can easily be installed at most existing channels, however they are sensitive to hydraulic parameters due to relatively high pressure losses on a filter part. Stepped screens should optionally be protected from large units as well as screens’ moving elements are made of firm but thin plastic. Moving elements can be made of stainless steel however it would advance the price significantly.


Although rack screens are easily installed at majority of existing channels occasionally it is required to provide inaction period in order to clean the laths.


Screens are optionally completed with transportation and wastes dehydration devices (performance – to 12 m3/h), which provide 35 % wastes moisture reduction.
