ORGANIZATION OF TREATED WASTEWATER AMOUNT REGISTRATION AND COMPLEX SOLUTION OF CONTROL PROBLEM AT WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITIES OF THE CITY OF KURGAN

Disputes as to assessment of sewage amount disposed of to the river of Tobol began in 1997. Because of the fact the State committee for environment protection issued an order for the Unitary Municipal Enterprise “Vodokanal” to establish a high-precision unit for the assessment of the disposed sewage.

At first sight, ordinary work became complicated by the fact that the sewage treatment facilities project did not provide installation of the unit for the assessment of the disposed sewage. That was why the management of the “Vodokanal” faced a challenging technical and organizational task, later brilliantly settled by the team of highly qualified professionals headed by the director of the Unitary Municipal Enterprise “Vodokanal” N.I. Gusev.

In the first place the research and analysis of possible technical solutions had been carried out as well as selection of the organizations capable of assisting in solving the set task. As a result of cooperation of the “Vodokanal” professionals and the State committee for environment protection it became clear that the only possible and easiest to implement was the solution offered by the professionals of the research and production firm “Ekopolimer” with who the “Vodokanal” enterprise had been long cooperating as for aeration system reconstruction.

The work outcome surpassed all expectations.

The only possible place for the equipment installation were two reinforced concrete collectors with the diameter of 1500 mm. at the outlet of the treated sewage water. Two devices OCM-III were mounted onto them. Without dwelling much on the unique characteristics of the given device it is sufficient to say that according to the information of such an authority as the American magazine “CONTROL. Magazine”, OCM-III is the best device of its kind and the world bestseller.

After installation of these devices a certain inconvenience of meterage reading appeared – we had to sum up the meterage of both devices and keep the register. Creative approach of the director of the Unitary Municipal Enterprise “Vodocanal” N.I. Gusev and high qualification of the research and production firm “Ekopolimer” intellectuals allowed to solve the problem of registration in the complex with traffic handling of all treatment facilities. There was installed an additional PC possessing all data and a unique program capable of accumulating and systemizing the meterage of the devices was created.

Even today it is possible to connect to the system up to 50 measuring points and see the actual picture of the treatment facilities functioning; works on traffic control of the blowing house, secondary settlers and other units are being carried out as well.

The actual results of cooperation of the three organizations have resulted in increased security of the treatment facilities’ functioning, power inputs decrease and, which is the most important, improvement of the treated sewage quality.

We believe that the given example of the team cooperation is going to settle down environmental problems. In conclusion we would like to congratulate the research and production firm “Ekopolimer” on its tenth anniversary and wish its intellectuals good speed in the noble cause of the environment protection.
